With summer just around the corner, it’s time to start planning out your boating destinations. The places to fish, dine, and just enjoy yourself on the Treasure Coast are endless. Here are a few of Harbour Ridge’s favorite local spots.
Peck’s Lake Nature Park, Hobe Sound
Situated right in between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, Peck’s Lake is exclusive to boaters. A private and natural oasis, boats of all sizes can anchor along Peck’s Lake’s beautiful scenery from the river. Walk just a few hundred feet on the boardwalk through the mangroves, and you’ll find yourself looking out at the endless ocean horizon. Pack a picnic and bring a book. Heading to Peck’s Lake is a great way to spend a beautiful sunny day!
Historic Downtown Stuart
There is so much to do in Downtown Stuart. Take your boat right up to the Riverwalk, dock at the public access and explore all it has to offer. Stroll through the town window-shopping and grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants…Spritz, Gaffords, The Black Marlin and the Riverwalk Oyster Bar to name a few. We also recommend an ice cream from Kilwins on a summer day. Listen to live music at the Rock’n Riverwalk and check out what’s fresh at the Stuart Green Market every Sunday. You don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot when you take your boat to get downtown. For a fun nightcap, stop by The Board Room underneath Mulligans along the Riverwalk.
Manatee Pocket, Port Salerno
Manatee Pocket is a sheltered bay off the Intracoastal and Okeechobee Waterways. This historical fisherman’s village has great waterfront dining and nightlife that is boat friendly with plenty of spots to dock. Manatee Island Bar & Grill and Shrimpers Grill & Raw Bar are just a few of the local favorites. The Twisted Tuna is perfect for a night out listening to live bands on the water.
Sewall’s Point Flats (Indian River and Saint Lucie Sides)
Across the Indian River from Sailfish Point, you’ll find the Sewall’s Point docks. The Indian River side of Sewall’s Point is a great year-round spot for anglers looking for Snook. The Saint Lucie side is known for its concentration of flounder and redfish. Both are great spots to cast a line without having to venture off shore.
Situated on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, Harbour Ridge’s shoreline encompasses two miles of beautiful, pristine riverfront. Here, you’ll enjoy the best of both worlds with a secluded safe harbor for your vessel and with easy ocean access just minutes away. Harbour Ridge is home to three private marinas with a combined 98 slips, ranging in size from 24 to 60 feet. For the non-boaters in the community, the estuary shoreline is also a haven for anglers, as the river is teeming with redfish, snook, tarpon and trout.
