The coastal Florida town of Stuart is not filled with towering skyscrapers but the streets are always lined with people and everyone on the Treasure Coast knows that despite its small-town feel, Stuart brings an energy unlike anywhere else. Constantly celebrating with neighbors, residents of the Treasure Coast flock to Stuart for live music, big game fishing, fresh produce, delicious bites, and boutique shopping. Stuart has it all, only question is, what is your first stop?

 What’s on Osceola?

A one-of-a-kina wine bar, numerous high-end boutique and plenty of delectable restaurants highlight Downtown Stuart’s Osceola St. The road, just a tenth of mile long, is lined with an eclectic array of shops varying from Cigars and flip flops to masterful pieces of art and jewelry. After winding your way through the shops, it’s easy to find a bite to eat, no matter what you’re in the mood for. Spritz City Bistro dishes out flatbreads and crostini’s while The Gafford or Black Marlin offer up the fresh seafood and other local favorites.

 Sundays in Stuart

Although every day is great day to visit Stuart, Sunday’s seem to be the most popular. The town comes alive around 9 a.m. as vendors fill the public parking lot for the Farmers Market. Everything from wooden frames and tomatoes to food trucks and flowers. This Farmers Market has it all. Then at 1 p.m. local bands rock the Riverwalk, with tunes from a variety of genres and eras. After the amps are packed away, head across the railroad tracks for the best “Sunday Funday” on the Treasure Coast as the tunes keep on rocking and rolling at Sailors Return. Be aware however, Sunday’s in Stuart have been known to cause sore feet and tired legs from all that dancing!

 Art Shows, Festivals a Plenty

There always seems to be a local art show or festival taking place in Downtown Stuart. This weekend, the town will be celebrating the 30th annual Dancing in the Streets Festival. The street party starts on Saturday at 3 p.m. and goes til midnight. Festival goers will enjoy music from more than 20 bands on four street stages and at the Lyric Theatre.

General admission tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate and can be purchased online at or or in person at the following downtown Stuart locations: Earthtones, Kilwin’s Chocolates & Ice Cream, Terra Fermata, Seacoast Bank and the Lyric Theatre box office.

There’s no doubt Downtown Stuart packs in the fun but there isn’t a better feeling than retreating home to kick your feet up and relax after a day of dancing and shopping with neighbors.
