What has changed for you within the last year—have you become glued to your hand sanitizer, began a fitness journey, or explored a new hobby? From sanitation stations to touchless entries, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed not only the landscape of real estate development but the priorities of buyers and renters as well. As the world has become accustomed to spending copious amounts of time at home, new amenities have redefined private club communities and become essential for homebuyers. Discover what health amenities the Treasure Coast’s Harbour Ridge residents cannot live without in 2021.

Outdoor Space

After what feels like years spent mostly stuck inside, fresh air and open space have become a necessity for many homebuyer’s searches. The Treasure Coast is surrounded by natural lands and refuges that offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, both near Harbour Ridge and off the beaten path. Trails and parks provide mountain bikers, and both day hikers and backpackers a delightful getaway. For a more tranquil experience, residents can enjoy a cell-phone-free afternoon of birdwatching amid one of the area’s breathtaking wildlife preserves. With three marinas and two miles of pristine shoreline bordering the Club, kayaking, fishing and boating are among the best ways to enjoy the stunning natural landscape of Harbour Ridge as well. Why not lay poolside with a drink in hand too?

The Clubhouse hosts some of the best spots to enjoy St. Lucie River views on the patio and alongside the boardwalk or gather under the stars at one of Harbour Ridge’s fire pits and grills—the possibilities are endless. Our residents aren’t the only ones who get to enjoy waterfront living. The Harbour Ridge dog park features agility courses, fenced and shaded areas, walking trails and water stations for our furry friends of all sizes. Whether looking for a day in the sun, or a space to enjoy a picnic outdoors, Harbour Ridge has something for everyone.

Fitness

While public gyms have been creative in following social distancing, capacity, and sanitizing guidelines, the future of fitness centers lies in smaller, intimate spaces that offer both privacy and safety. The 22,000-square foot Lakeside Spa, Fitness and Tennis complex offers a full range of cardio and strength equipment including TRX, complemented by Pilates equipment training, personal training and massages. Lakeside is the perfect place to begin your journey of health and fitness. For outdoor exercise, Harbour Ridge is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses and offers members full access to renowned golf training and learning programs geared for beginners to advanced players. Each hole provides the perfect mix of stunning views and “playability”. Harbour Ridge’s tennis facilities are second to none. The tennis program is very active with weekly socials, round-robin tournaments, and men’s and women’s tennis team competitions. After teeing up on the green or serving up a game of tennis, cool off in the club’s state-of-the-art lap pool. Like fitness, homebuyers today are drawn to additional health and wellness features like Harbour Ridge’s conscious menus offering mouth-watering salads, juice and energizing smoothies, and amenities that pamper. At the Spa and Salon at Lakeside, residents enjoy European-style spa services with a full complement of treatments available for the entire family.

On-property Entertaining

Those who wish to “go to the office” without leaving home often seek out this option in their social lives too. As a result, private dining rooms and event spaces are becoming more popular in 2021. At Harbour Ridge, residents can enjoy a world-class meal without leaving the Club. The Grille Room offers Sunday brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks in a casual, comfortable setting that encourages easy conversation with impeccable service. The Riverview Dining Room and Eagle’s Nest Lounge boast breathtaking views and elegant dining experiences. For those yearning for a place for family and friends to enjoy live music and cocktails while watching the beautiful sunset colors reflect on the estuary waters, Dockside Pavilion is the spot.

Grab your glass and join Wine Society Members for Vines on the Veranda events on the last Sunday of each month. This event takes place on the Upper-Level waterfront Veranda of the Clubhouse. Society members pick up two pre-selected featured wines and enjoy sample wine tastings and light canapés (canapés are available on the evening of the event, only). What could be better to pair with signature wines than light snacks provided by Chef Rob’s Culinary Team? To accommodate social distancing guidelines, members have even enjoyed virtual tasting experiences from home, offering the same one-of-a-kind samples with a twist. Upcoming events will be held on March 28th and April 25th, but those unable to attend do not need to worry. The Club will hold featured wines at the Clubhouse for pick-up at the member’s convenience. On top of Vines on the Veranda events, Wine Society members enjoy the luxury of first access to selected wine events throughout the year. Due to the continued changes in Harbour Ridge’s dining guidelines and policies, digital communications have alerted members to early reservation access. There will be one additional wine event planned this season; will you be in attendance?

Wine events fill Harbour Ridge’s calendar each year, attracting wine enthusiasts throughout the community. Although, it is the unbeatable benefits that gain the Wine Society the most attention. Wine Society Members are allowed up to two bottles of waived corkage fees during each a la carte dining visit, and discounted fees on Holidays, Special Events, and Golf Tournaments. Hosting a party or stocking up for the summer? Wine Society Members receive 10% off any case of wine and/or retail wine sales that are purchased through the Club. Harbour Ridge Wine Locker Membership

Imagine sipping fine wine matched with savory bites and social hour among family and friends – the Wine Locker Membership unlocks a new level of luxury. Locker Members greatly anticipate two complimentary special “Wine Locker Member-Only” parties. These include the Champagne & Wine Locker Soirée and the beloved Paris Tasting Party. Like Wine Society Members, Wine Locker Members are among the first to access selected wine events, receive special wine offers and limited quantity features 48-hours in advance before the general membership. Members enjoy 10% off any case of wine and/or retail wine sales that are purchased through the Club. Harbour Ridge Wine Locker Members are taken care of when it comes to events, one of the most desired features among members is the waived corkage fee. This is accessible at any time, location, or event, provided that the wine be served directly from the member’s wine locker. It wasn’t until she moved to Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club that Lois Fraser bought her first “real” camera. Mrs. Fraser became a photographer as a way to look deeper into the world around her and share that sense of discovery with others. Most of what she has learned is through her involvement with the Harbour Ridge Birding Society, which she is now the president of, doing a lot of reading about nature, and she also started a nature blog (Nature Notes) to share her discoveries. She is even on her way to becoming a Florida Master Naturalist too.

Her photography really gives you a sense of the diversity of wildlife and how they have made their home at Harbour Ridge and their daily lives as “Members.” You can see the cranes pecking for worms on the fairways, otters have a casual conversation in the pickerelweed, and black skimmers doing aerial gymnastic-like moves as they skim for fish.

“Looking through the lens of my camera helped me discover the diversity of wildlife here at Harbour Ridge. That made me curious about each of the species I was photographing, as well as the habitats that support them,” says Mrs. Fraser on photographing around the community.

Although the birds in her backyard were one of her initial inspirations to pick up a camera, Mrs. Fraser’s photography also ranges from all types of wildlife from a peninsula cooter turtle making its way to another pond to a dragonfly resting on a branch to anoles “doing the dewlap.”

Size does not matter either as she has also focused on the local osprey at the top of the food chain all the way down to a sweat bee pollinating the flowers in her yard…There is nothing that she doesn’t capture!

“I feel fortunate every day to live in a place where I can drive around in my golf cart and find so many interesting things to photograph. Nature at Harbour Ridge is beautiful at first glance, but when you start looking more closely, it’s truly amazing!” says Mrs. Fraser.

It’s no secret that Harbour Ridge is home to nature enthusiasts. With two miles of waterfront and 885 acres of unspoiled beauty, this Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary-certified community offers a level of privacy and a connection with nature that is unmatched. There are many different ways the residents interact with the natural surroundings, but Lois Fraser enjoys using the lens of her camera to view, capture and learn more about her community’s natural beauty.

While the holidays looked a little different this year, Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club went above and beyond to provide their members with a jolly and safe, holiday season. The community quickly transformed itself into a winter wonderland. Residents decorated their “village” entrances with wreaths, holiday decorations and lights. You could even find reindeer wearing a mask! Even with the current social distancing guidelines, members at Harbour Ridge were still able to come together and celebrate the holiday season together.

The festivities started at the beginning of the month with the Holiday Golf Cart Parade and lighting of the Clubhouse. Members lined up at Lakeside Fitness Center with their golf carts decked out with extravagant Christmas decorations to put together the most festive cart imaginable. Golf carts were wrapped with lights, garland and ribbon and some were even topped with holiday inflatables. The parade route concluded at the Clubhouse where they joined other members and socially distanced outside to enjoy a holiday cocktail and watched the full lighting of the Clubhouse and Dockside Christmas tree.

Keeping traditions alive, there was a little twist on the Annual Bring-a-Gift event. As members in the parade arrived at the Clubhouse, they each dropped off their unwrapped toy to be donated to local charities.

Harbour Ridge Golf Cart Parade

The holiday season at Harbour Ridge wouldn’t be complete without a Holiday Boat Parade! The festive evening kicked-off with an enjoyable dinner at the Clubhouse and then moved closer to the water at one of the three marinas. Members lined the riverside trail to see fellow Harbour Ridge boaters parade by for a bright display of holiday lights. Just like the golf carts, there was not an inch of any boat that wasn’t decorated. There were even some Christmas carolers there to fill with air with holiday cheer as the boats lit up the St. Lucie River.

The festivities don’t stop there, and the best is still to come! Harbour Ridge is ready to say goodbye to 2020 and bring in 2021 with a bang. Members can celebrate the New Year socially-distant in their own homes with New Year’s Eve party boxes filled with all the NYE essentials: party hats, streamers, noisemakers, a bottle of champagne and a chef-prepared three-course meal. There will of course be fireworks from the Golden Marsh course to welcome 2021.

Already looking ahead to next year, the member events calendar is filled with events from golf tournaments like the member annual Go Pink! Tournament, to supporting the Cleveland Clinic Martin Health Foundation Breast Cancer Navigator Program or the Yacht Club’s all-new annual fishing tournament. We can’t wait to see what else 2021 brings!

As Featured in The Wall Street Journal, Mansion Global, Luxury Homes & Developments. – Driving through the gates of Harbour Ridge, a waterfront community in Palm City, Florida, it’s hard not to feel instantly more relaxed. The picturesque property is part of the region’s Treasure Coast, on the shores of the St. Lucie River, with views straight from a postcard. And it isn’t merely the scenery that washes away worries; it’s Harbour Ridge’s commitment to providing a safe sense of normalcy in unprecedented times.

“When the pandemic hit, many members shared that they felt like life remained mostly unchanged as they were in their ‘safety bubble,'” says Michael J. Salerno, general manager and COO of Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club. “They were still comfortable enjoying life here safely. Seasonal residents stayed longer than they would typically — with staff providing grocery deliveries, an onsite green market, the ability to golf and boat, and a host of other activities.”

As residents return to the property to reconnect with loved ones over the holidays, the staff is doubling down on these comforts with many of their annual festive events in place, albeit altered for safety. For instance, this year’s 5K Turkey Trot will be held virtually.

“We still have our family-friendly outdoor Winter Wonderland event, complete with snow, cookie decorating and pictures with Santa at our riverfront dining venue, Dockside,” Salerno says. “And there’s a holiday boat parade and outdoor tree lighting ceremony for all members and their families to safely enjoy by the riverfront. We are continuing to plan events for the season as best and safely as possible.”

Those remaining physically distant from relatives outside of their immediate household during a time of year when family is everything can still take solace in the warmth of such a close-knit community.

“Our staff gets to know our members, their families and guests,” says Salerno. “They have a service-led heart where they genuinely want to help and provide memories that last a lifetime.”

Everyone who’s visited the Treasure Coast can agree that it has some of the most amazing waterfront spots in town. With a location set among the St. Lucie River and the Atlantic Ocean, those who love the waterfront will love the Treasure Coast. One of the best places to see the waterfront is to dine at one of the local restaurants, many of them which are situated right on the St. Lucie River. Check out some of the best views from the restaurants below.

Kyle G’s

Part of Kyle G’s appeal is the lovely view of the Atlantic Ocean that sits right behind the restaurant. Diners enjoy watching the waves lap the shore and seeing boats go by. The views of the ocean here are hard to beat, as well as the delicious menu that features Center Cut Filet Mignon and Steamed Maine Lobster.

Stuart Boathouse

Stuart Boathouse is famous for many things, including its amazing happy hour, its great dishes, and it’s wonderful waterfront view. The Cannonball Shrimp Tacos with ginger aioli, as well as the prosciutto and goat cheese flatbread, reflect the restaurant’s creative atmosphere. Even better, the restaurant is right next to the Riverwalk Stage, meaning that diners can often catch dinner and a show.

Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House

The Dolphin Bar & Shrimp House is well-known thanks to some fantastic food and an amazing view of the riverfront. The restaurant’s menu features fresh fish and classic steakhouse food, including it’s signature dish, Dolphin a la Dolphin. It’s best enjoyed with a table seat right by the Indian River Lagoon. The Happy Hour here is not to be missed!

Sailor’s Return

On the far east side of Downtown Stuart is Sailor’s Return, a lively and vibrant local restaurant with some of the best sights of the St. Lucie River. The menu is a classic mix of New England favorites, such as clam chowder, and coastal classics like coconut shrimp. A collection of drink specials and specialty martinis lets diners enjoy happy hour here, and the sight of the St. Lucie River rolling by adds to the scene. They regularly host live music here for entertainment as well.

The Treasure Coast is famous for it’s amazing views of the waterfront. However, few can beat the unparalleled views at the restaurants within Harbour Ridge, the Treasure Coast’s preferred golf and country club. The Club’s member-only restaurants such as the refined Riverview Dining Room and the classy-casual Dockside Pavilion serve up not only stellar dishes such as steaks and seafood, they also have the St. Lucie River as a backdrop. Emblematic of the Club’s waterfront lifestyle, the dining here is unmatched.

The restaurants aren’t the only way that the members of Harbour Ridge live their lives by the river. The Club’s marina hosts up to 98 slips, and its location allows boaters to get out on the St. Lucie River or the Atlantic Ocean within a short matter of time.
