This unique community offers a variety of amenities for its members that make it unlike any other. Specifically, the waterfront luxuries make this the ideal home for boating enthusiasts. With direct water access, boaters have not only found their home at Harbour Ridge, but also their boat’s home.

Home for the Boating Enthusiast

Harbour Ridge is home to not just one, but three private marinas! With a total of 98 slips, this secluded safe harbor is fitted for all types of boats ranging in sizes from 24 to 60 feet. The docks are conveniently located within the community and are just a short golf cart ride away from your doorstep. Yacht Club members can have fun both on and off the water with numerous club events throughout the year. The member events calendar is filled with day and evening cruises, annual fishing contests, formal events, “docktail” parties, and the Commodore’s Ball making Harbour Ridge the perfect place to meet and mingle with other boating enthusiasts!

The Perfect Nautical Coordinates

The community’s premier location makes the pristine Treasure Coast an aquatic playground for all boat lovers. With direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway, boaters have endless opportunities to discover the Florida waters. Harbour Ridge residents can easily venture to Stuart’s popular sandbars at low tide or spend the day below the surface snorkeling and diving along the shoreline. Downtown Stuart is also a convenient cruise down the river. For those up for an adventure, the west end of the Bahamas is just 55 miles from the coastline. While out in the deep ocean, fishermen love to spend time in the open water off of Stuart as it is known as the “Sailfish Capital of the World.”

More Ways to Enjoy the Waterfront

Even without a boat, residents can still enjoy the natural waterfront amenities. Harbour Ridge’s two miles of estuary shoreline is a haven for anglers as the river is filled with redfish, snook, tarpon, and trout. Anglers are not limited to the shoreline as kayak fishing is fast growing in popularity. Residents can also explore the picturesque river scenery via kayaks or paddleboards or small sailboats. With a small ramp located next to the main marina at the Clubhouse, residents can easily put in their own kayak or paddleboard or use one of the Club’s. The Water Taxi also makes its way up the St. Lucie River for those nights when you want to kick back and head downtown for dinner by boat. The Club even owns two entertaining pontoon boats that are available to rent, giving its members another convenient way to enjoy the benefits of waterfront living.

Farmers’ markets have taken off in the past couple of years, and it’s easy to see why. The Treasure Coast’s tropical climate is perfect for fruits to grow, makes delicious beef and eggs, and gives everyone a good excuse to get outside and get together. After all, who could turn down a day that starts with watching the river go by as you eat breakfast, buying some of the freshest produce from local farmers and dancing along to live music?

Fort Pierce Farmer’s Market

We’d argue that although there are many amazing markets out there, none of them could come close to the Downtown Fort Pierce Farmers’ Market. There’s so much to check out here, and so much of it has been grown, raised or made right in here South Florida. One such example is the dips at Dani’s Healthy Organic Fun Food. Everything on the table is delicious, from the crackers to the amazing Lemon-y Artichoke Dip, and Dani himself made everything. Make sure to stop and grab a box of cinnamon and sugar sprinkled donuts from Cider Doughnuts. They’re freshly made right in front of you, and make for the perfect snack! If you want a gift to send to family up north that’s authentically Florida, grab them a box of oranges from Al’s Family Farms. Locally grown right in South Florida, you won’t find sweeter citrus anywhere else.

Stuart Green Market

The Stuart Green Market started out in the 90s by people whose dream it was to bring locally grown produce and goods to the people of Stuart. Roughly 30 years later, that dream is still alive, thanks to the vendors who show up every Sunday and the buyers who come to enjoy live music, shopping, and great food by the waterfront. No one can resist a salty treat from Sea Turtle Concessions, which serves up hot dogs and ice-cold drinks every Sunday at the market! Grab some produce from Whole Plant Food, or wooden bowls from Otton Wood making. Walk down the waterfront a little ways, and you’ll come across PJ Ranch, known for their sweet syrups! Whether you’re looking for maple syrup, mangrove honey from Florida mangroves, or sorghum, they have it all of the stickiest, sweetest stuff here.

When you’re purchasing fruit or honey from a farmer’s market, you’re getting more than just produce. You’re getting something that’s authentically Florida. Most folks think that that’s hard to find these days, but it turns out that it’s closer than you think. And Harbour Ridge is in the heart of it all.

Located just a short way from each of these farmer’s markets on the Treasure Coast, Harbour Ridge embraces the area’s authenticity in so many ways.

Everyone who’s visited the Treasure Coast can agree that it has some of the most amazing waterfront spots in town. The lifestyle on the Treasure Coast is pretty sweet.

How can it not be, with the area’s amazing beaches and small town vibe? It’s not just the local produce, or even the locals themselves, that are sweet. The natural area has inspired chocolate and candy confections that are hard to turn down. The local’s at Harbour Ridge have picked out their favorites. Sample them yourself at these three Stuart storefronts.

Kilwins

Established in the early 50’s, Kilwins has quickly become a landmark of Tradition in Port St. Lucie. Residents can’t resist stopping by for a scoop of delicious ice cream or a bite of chocolate candies. It’s impossible to not pick something up when they have chocolate and caramel covered pretzel rods, caramel apples, candy-filled gift baskets, and huge tubs of ice cream on display. Toasted coconut is a local favorite. Even if customers don’t buy something, they stop by to watch fudge being made on-site!

Importico’s Bakery Cafe

Born and raised in South Florida, Importico’s truly has made a name for itself on the Treasure Coast. When customers step inside one of their three locations, they have to stop and marvel at the delicately decorated cakes and pastries. Their new location down Colorado Avenue in Downtown Stuart means that now it’s easier to pick up your baked goods and treats!

Signature Sweets Chocolate

Across the way from Kilwins is another delicious chocolate shop in Downtown Stuart. Stop in here to sample chocolates and ice creams that aren’t found at your usual sweet store. Strolling through their shop reveals flavors such as Champagne Truffle chocolates and Valencia Orange Sorbet. They even have frozen yogurt!

Castronovo Chocolate

Most Treasure Coast residents don’t know that they live alongside a celebrity chocolatier! Denise Castronovo of Castronovo Chocolate has been taking the foodie world by storm with her award winning bars, and has received shout outs from The Washington Post to The New York Times for bars such as white chocolate with lemon salt and lemon oil and chocolate infused honey. She imports cacao beans from Latin American farms that ethically harvest them, and blends her chocolate without soy or emulsifiers. Check out her sweet treats iN Stuart.

Bruno Chocolate Creations

We couldn’t finish this list without mentioning this store! BCC has always worked to be as involved in the community as they possibly can be. Their customer service is just as sweet as their products, with staff offering school tours and samples. If that doesn’t win you over, the chocolate covered orange peels and lollipop gift baskets surely will!

Life along the Treasure Coast is pretty sweet. The area manages the perfect balance between hosting charming cities with tons of activities, and leaving plenty of space for the unique wildlife that calls it home. Mornings and evenings hold brightly colored skies made by the sun. Locals are as warm and welcoming as the weather is. It’s easy to see why people who come to visit tend to stick around.

Don’t be fooled that summer is ending; September is one of the best times of Florida’s fishing season. The waters aren’t as crowed with boats and are teeming with fish. Don’t be surprised to hear of people landing Snook and Tarpon as well as Wahoo, Dolphin and Sailfish. Residents and members at Harbour Ridge can be out in the Atlantic in no time thanks to their on-site marina. But don’t get caught off guard yourself – read ahead to learn about this month’s fishing prediction.

September in South Florida means one thing: Dolphin! The golden-headed fish has been reported all over in the local waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Head out the inlet to get in on the action as soon as you can. A tip: you can find these fish near weed lines, but don’t spend all day flipping over every pile of seaweed that you find floating. Keep an eye out for ones that have bubbles near them, then cast there and troll.

Not to be out shadowed, September might even have some leftover Wahoo from the earlier summer season. And don’t forget, Stuart is the Sailfish Capital of the World. The bite here is starting to pick up and anglers are reporting some good action – especially in the mornings.

This is also a great time to catch cobia. Another local tip: look for rays up on the surface or with your bottom machine. They almost always come with cobia underneath their wings. If you can find the rays, you have a good shot at cobia.

Start your day on the water at first light trolling for the sport fish. Once the sun is higher in the sky, switch to bottom fishing the local reefs for Grouper or Snapper. There are a few artificial reefs created by Martin County’s Artificial Reef Program just off of the St. Lucie Inlet that provide habitat for these species. They make great fishing grounds.

Looking for beach fishing? Head out to find Tarpon rolling on the shorelines. The best time for Tarpon is in the morning or in the evening. Stop by the Snook Nook, the local bait and tackle shop, on your way out to the beach to pick up anything you might need. A spinning reel will do the trick.

The weather forecast is looking great for fishing, as well. The late summer atmosphere, along with the Atlantic Ridge Axis shifting from Central to South Florida means that the air and water temperatures are less likely to produce storms. Enjoy a few weeks of warm blue waters and mostly sunny blue skies.
The fishing and the weather make it great to spend the time outdoors. One of the best possible places to cast is near Harbour Ridge – located on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. The lifestyle of this private community is centered around the water and second to none.

Hiking through South Florida is a treat that grants wildlife animal sightings, treks through wild and nearly untouched land, and beautiful landscapes. Residents and members at Harbour Ridge are lucky enough to have this all in their backyards. If you’re looking for the newest place to try out your hiking shoes, try one of these parks and trails.

South Fork Trail at Halpatiokee Regional Park

As the largest park in Martin County, it hosts over 65 acres of land. Here you can hike miles of landscapes from pine flat woods to scrub. When you’re hiking, you’ll also come in contact with the south fork of the St. Lucie River on occasion. The views are beautiful.

Indian Riverside Park

This gorgeous, expansive park offers everything from boardwalk trails alongside the waterfront to winding paths that take you throughout the park. Along the way, take younger children to the Children’s Museum, or see if you can’t get a glimpse of Tuckahoe Mansion.

Poppleton Creek Dog Park Trails

What’s more fun than running through miles of trails, viewing endangered ecosystems, and coming face to face with animals unique to the area? Doing all that with your dog! Aside from the hiking trails that take you through wetlands, scrub flatwoods, and sand pine scrub, there’s a dog park that hosts separate areas for both big breeds and small breeds, and a dog washing station.

Veterans Memorial Bridge

Okay, so it’s not technically a trail, but it does have the supreme views and exercise value that these other trails do. Walk it in the morning to watch the sun rise over the water-and make sure to keep an eye out for wildlife such as ospreys and hawks! Run it later in the afternoon for a workout that will really put you in a sweat!

Harbour Ridge

If you’re looking for hiking trails that highlight Florida’s nature and wild beauty, there aren’t any better than the ones at Harbour Ridge. The miles of trails cut through the neighborhood, making them perfect both for an evening walk with friends or an early morning run. Having received the Outstanding Florida Community Award from Audubon International, you’ll be able to catch glimpses of all kinds of wildlife, ranging from bald eagles to river otters. Your hiking doesn’t have to stay on the land-the community’s location by the St. Lucie River means that you can explore twisted mangrove paths and river trails on kayak.
